Signing the MOU between HKU and the Housing Bureau on March 31, 2026, attracted widespread media attention.

The Secretary for Housing, Ms Winnie Ho, and the President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong, Professor Xiang Zhang, have signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today (March 31) to establish a co-operation framework for advancing research and practical applications of cutting-edge construction technologies in public housing projects. This partnership will leverage the research prowess of a global top university alongside the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HKHA)’s full-cycle functions – from planning and design through construction and operations management to maintenance – and its comprehensive practical scenarios, bringing world-class innovations to local construction practices to pioneer industry leadership and accelerate Hong Kong’s construction sector toward higher quality, more intelligent, and sustainable practices.For more, please refer to the Press
房屋局局長何永賢與香港大學校長張翔教授今日(三月三十一日)簽署合作備忘錄,就推動創新建築科技在公營房屋發展中的研究與實際應用建立合作框架。是次合作結合全球頂尖學府的科研實力,與香港房屋委員會(房委會)由規劃、設計、建造、營運管理直至維修保養的全周期職能及全方位實踐場景,將世界級創新成果引入本地建造實務,成為業界先行者,帶動香港建築業向高質量、智能化及可持續方向加速邁進。
